the gap

the way we are is the result of DNA random copying errors
what looks like a plan is not
it is that errors occur and survive or do not survive
so what survives looks like a plan of DNA

DNA has wired us so we don't  know much about emotions
so we don't know much about how DNA controls us
because otherwise DNA might not be in control

So DNA makes a gap between our computing brain, the cortex or cerebrum
and the emotion area, the amygdala
so they don't talk to eachother very well

in caveman days that mean't the amygdala could dominate with fear
eg to avoid a charging mammoth
...it could take over quickly

it also means that emotion can drive us relentlessly
eg to survive in drought conditions

perhaps now emotions function to keep us stapled to life still
so we keep on doing things
that allow survival

without that drive we just might not bother
to do anything
eg make babies, families, food, comfort and so on
