mental illness

when the problem of the gap of understanding
between logic and emotion
between cortex and amygdala
is severe
the result is mental illness, crime, drug abuse or a mixture of these
so you find in these people that
there is no brake or filter on emotion
these people are run by emotion
much more than most of us
there is a controversial but respected psychiatrist
in america who believes that most mental illness
is the result of problems with emotions
his name is dan fisher
and his podcast is called emotional CPR
that is: emotional resuscitation
psychoses are generated by this same problem
in his opinion
he considers that in sleep and dreaming we try to solve our problems
and that when we are overwhelmed by these problems
and our waking and dreaming states fail
our dreams invade our wakeful state
and this is psychosis
